I met Kathi in the third grade at St. Anns. We instantly became best friends. I have so many stories and memories of her, I think of her everyday. She was much smarter than I, and taught me so much, I remember when she taught me to play the piano. We were inseperable for 6 years, you wouldn't see one of us without the other. Watching this tribute brought me to tears. I listen to all the music that we liked and I think of her daily. It truly pains me that I was unaware of her passing, yet relieved that none of our classmates knew before me. I planted sunflowers in her memory. I want to go to the ocean on the 2nd of September to let the flowers glide in the ocean, to let her know that I am there for her and miss her so much. We had lost contact with each other over the years, she never left my mind. When I learned of her passing, it truly felt like a part of me died as well. Though we were young, she was and is still my best friend, and there will never be another friend like her. My thoughts and prayers for Russell and their children. Joan, Laura, Elizabeth, and BJ. So weird that the sisters are grown with children of their own. I remember Joan pregnant with the last two girls. I love you Kathi!!!
